Birdwatching Cayos Siete Hermanos
The Birdwatching Cayos Siete Hermanos tour is ideal for migratory and endemic bird sightings.
The Birdwatching Cayos Siete Hermanos tour is an excellent birdwatching adventure. The seven keys, Tururu, Muertos, Ratas, Terrero, Monte Chico, Monte Grande, and Cayo Arena, are soil and coral sand islets. They are flat with depressions in the center. Some of the keys range between 5 feet (1.5 m) and 14 feet (4.4m) above sea level. The depressions in the islets are perfect nesting shelters for breeding sea birds.
From May to August, is the best time to see nesting birds. Brown Noddy, Sooty Tern and Bridled Tern nest in the largest numbers on Cayo Arena, Terrero, and Monte Chico.
There are other bird species that can be seen on the keys. They are also habitat for pelican, earwig, coronary pigeon and yellow warbler.
