Cayos Siete Hermanos
Cayos Siete Hermanos are great for birdwatching, snorkeling and scuba diving. They have excellent quality beaches, coral reefs and shipwrecks.
Cayos Siete Hermanos are seven small islets northwest of Monte Cristi. The keys have excellent quality beaches and are surrounded by coral. Their location and structure make them perfect for nesting migratory and endemic birds, reptiles and various mammals.
They are a bird watcher’s pradise. The keys are home to large population of Brown Noddy and Sterns form April to August. Other species such as pelican, earwig, coronary pigeon, mangrove canary also inhabit the keys.
The coral reefs are ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving. They contain a wide variety of sponges, coral fish, hawksbill turtles, conch and various other marine species. In addition to the coral, there are several colonial era shipwrecks that are attractive dive and snorkel sites.
